Georgiadis Hellenic Submachingun 9mm
Alexander Georgiadis came back to Greece in 1945 to work in Pyrkal. Soon the lack of activity bored him. To the end of 1946 he start the design of submachine gun that he hoped that would attract the attention of the company and make it more active. During the last month of 1947 he constantly improve and try to promote the gun to his employers. This ended in the middle of 1948 when he put all his dedication to the design of the P9M49 being delayed by his mates. Despite of being bring to the extremes of the frustration and after several threats of he quitting from Pyrkal the project was done. After it Georgiadis won a certain respect within the army as well as in Pyrkal as a good engineer and a hard worker. When in 1949 the greek army ask for a submachine gun it took a month before Pyrkal submitted the GH SMG 9 and soon after it was accepted into service.
The gun have a forward magazine housing that is extended to function as grip. It has small extensions on the magazine housing going to the sides of the grip and the barrel to allow a real grip on the front of the gun to be screw in. Other small extension behind the line of the barrel allow more personalization of the sling.
