Armored hangers
Folks:
How would I go about simulating a British-syle armored hanger on a carrier? Model the ship with an upper belt?
As a normal carrier, but with 2/3 the airgroup.
I recall that being part of the springstyle notes, but I don't find it a satisfying method.
I'm thinking that the upper belt would be the hanger sides, and then the freeboard would be raised so that the armor deck corresponds to the hanger roof, not the hanger floor.
You'd probably have to shed misc. weight for aircraft to do this, rather than the arbitrary two-thirds rule...

HMS Ark Royal's flight deck is 55ft above the waterline. You can put 55ft freeboard and upper belt armour if you want, but I won't work very well.
