Derived from Arado Ar96B as a private venture. Features all metal construction and uprated engine. Adopted by the Luftwaffe in limited numbers from 1943 onward.

Enclosed cabin for student pilot and instructor in tandem. Can be fitted with one 7.92mm MG17 with 220 rounds for weapons training. Racks for two 50 kg practice bombs fitted.
