Wouldn't it just be easier and cheaper to buy Jutland? You already have her sister, and she is bigger, faster, and has a bigger airgroup.

Logic is a little tweeting bird...

That's a possibility, I suppose. But there's always a Plan B. :)

Ahh ok, so is she an Aircraft Carrier or a 5,500 ton FAE ?

5

Friday, February 9th 2007, 4:25pm

Y'know, the way y'all act, you'd think I'd blown up a couple of ships or something. I've no idea why... :D

The really big honkin' FAE still flies a Filipino flag (but you don't know that).

Previous Go-Ni types are amphibious warfare ships; am I to infer that this is a proto-LPH?

7

Friday, February 9th 2007, 4:45pm

Nope, just a "straight" CVE with the Go-Ni hull used as a basis.

(If Denmark's willing to sell Jutland, of course, then this will probably be one for the never-were file.)

Why do you need two lifts? or even a lift at all?

With such a small airgroup and limited operations of Siam you might as well just store them on deck.

*Zooms in on deck detail*
That's my deck alright...
*Zooms in even more*
...
You hooligan!! You vandalized the deck!! It's a huge mess!!
:D

I think I should make some space in my building program and build a pair of Mk. III ships...

Swampy: enlighten us. What good does a small, slow aircraft carrier do Siam?

Present more canon fodder?

Make a nice place to covertly training pirate pilots....

OOC answer: it lets me build something cool I've had sitting around for a while. :D

IC answer: It can act as a mobile airfield should there be need for merchant protection or blockade (i.e. El Derritir) duties require.

Still not sure I'll actually build it, though, might wait and build something bigger - or buy used, anyone got a spare aircraft carrier they want to be rid of?
