French Ships for 1942

General Summary of French plans for 1942
Although 1942 will be a busy year for French shipyards, there won't be much in the way of truly "new" ship classes for you to look at. The largest chunk of new vessels will actually be new auxiliaries, such as the La Seybouse-class destroyer tenders. The construction of existing Surcouf and Sabre-class destroyers will continue (although the next set of Sabres will switch to the 100mm-armed Cimeterre design). Three of France's heavy cruisers (the two Duquesne-class and the Indochine) will be refitted as well. Only one new class of warships, the Jean Bart class, will be laid down to replace the old Amiral Charner, which is getting long in the tooth.
