Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
1,334 lbs / 605 Kg = 4.4 x 10.0 " / 254 mm shells or 0.4 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.30
Metacentric height 1.7 ft / 0.5 m
Roll period: 11.5 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 100 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.47
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 2.00

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has raised forecastle, rise aft of midbreak
Block coefficient: 0.470
Length to Beam Ratio: 6.12 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 14.80 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 36 %

Notes:
The Huascar is maintained by the Chilean Navy as a historical vessel and memorializes the heroes, both Chilean and Peruvian, who fought and died upon her decks. It is forbidden by Chilean law to sell, scrap, or cosmetically alter the ship. Although it has a caretaker crew provided by Naval Academy cadets, the ship is permanently anchored in Talcahuano and is no longer regarded as a fighting vessel.
