News from Atlantis Q2/23

May 15th

A small earthquake hit the Island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The Atlantian military on nearby Gomera Island was put on alert untill it was confirmed that no serious damage was sustained. Several small earthquakes have hit the island in the past few months causing the geologists on the Island some consern. Fears have been expressed that the Pico volcano is becoming more active.

June 28th

The Atlantian navy continues to grow in an effort to modernise its fleet. The Majestic carrier Arrogant has completed and is begining her trials while aircrews are feverishly training to equip her and her sistership the Fearless which will finnish building in 3 months. In addition three Valencia class cruisers the Ascanius, Maracaibo and Caracus are also working up and will soon join their sister in forming 2 new cruiser squadrons along side the venerable Medusa class cruisers.

June 30th

The Atlantian cruiser ANS Valencia along with the Battleship Poseidon, and the 5th destroyer division (2nd flotilla) began a goodwill cruise today which will involve stops at Safi, Casablanca, Algiers, Marseille followed by a brief inturuption while they participate in FAR fleet manuvers, afterwhich they will proceed to Tunis, Malta, Athens and Finally Istambul were it is expected that Final amendments to the planned treaty between Atlantis and Turkey will be completed.
The treaty talks include talks on the final Turkish fleets strength. Additional delegates are expected to arrive via the famed Atlantian liner Palinerus.
Its hoped by some that a return trip will involve stops at Italian and Iberian ports following a short cruise to Russian and Romanian ports.
