Latvian Navy Order-of-Battle
Terminology:
- Squadron: a grouping of sub-units of various different classes and types.
- Flotilla: a grouping of ships of similar types (i.e. submarines or destroyers), preferably of the same class; consists of between 6 to 8 ships
- Division: can be either part of a flotilla (for instance, a flotilla might be divided into two or three divisions for tactical purposes), or an administrative grouping of 1-3 ships (when the term 'flotilla' does not apply to the situation).
