Beijing Newspaper Q3/1937 - Chinese news and events - July / August / September

Army news:

Shenzen Automotive Limited presents the successor of the Armored Car type FAI. The "Sheli" is a heavy recon-car with a sufficiently strong arming.
After intensive tests, the serial production is The Chinese army has already placed an order over many vehicles. Of course, the vehicle is also available
on the export market.

Experiences from the common 1936 SATSUMA maneuver shows, that the chinese army has a great need for heavy tanks. The equipment of the armored
divisions with medium tanks appeared to be insufficient. For this reason, the Chinese Defense Ministry started a tender for a heavy tank. After the first
chinese protoypes are finished, it was decided to start an international tender, to have a international comparison with the chinese drafts.

And here comes another armoured cruiser (or maybe, considering their main battery size and layout, "Pocket Battleships" :D).

I presume that on that tonnage, the ship should be well armoured. The one thought I have to make, at least on these stats, is that I myself would not be happy with 150mm and 88mm secondaries; I'd want something more intermediate between the two, in the 4.5"-5.2" range; but glancing through China's encyclopedia, I see you don't have any existing guns in that range*. I don't think it's really a problem, just something I'd design differently than you have, I suppose.

*Edit: Wait a minute, that's not true. China has THREE intermediate calibers on its cruisers: a 119mm gun, a 125mm gun, and a 140mm gun. I'd choose one of those to standardize secondaries and DD main armament on, myself...

Any plans in the future for a Chinese dreadnought?
