Ghost ship in the Street of Mocambique?

Maintirano. Is there a ghost ship in the Street of Mocambique? Fishermen from the small island Juan de Nova reported to our local office that they have seen a “grey ship” which, due to their stories, made no noise, showed no lights and even had no wake. “There was nobody aboard.” said Pierre Castillo, an old fisherman who has seen many things during his long lifespan “but never something like this” as he stated. “It came quite close, nearly sailing over my cutter. It suddenly appeared in the South and within seconds it was gone towards the North.” Asked of what kind of vessel the ship was, he told us “it looked much like a small cruiser, you know, one of those from Durban. Our Navy has lots of them and they are well known. But this one…” Due to the reports, all saying the same, this incident happened on the evening of December 27th. We asked the Navy if they had any ships in that region said day but Officials in Durban told us none of their ships, the 3rd Cruiser Squadron is stationed at Durban, was near Juan de Nova. So the identity of this so-called “ghost ship” remains a mystery right now.

Douala. RSANs battleship Uruguay is still docked in Douala. The ship entered the dock on November 18th. It was damaged when rammed by the steamer Stockholm of Malabo. As it seems the Navy is yet not sure what to do. The ship sustained some underwater damage and can thus not be used for further operations. On the other hand it doesn´t seem worth the effort to repair it due to the restrictions that will come into effect once the Cleito Treaty is signed. It is not yet clear if the old battleship can be kept or must be decommissioned and scrapped. RSAN Uruguay is the Navy´s second oldest battlewagon and thus among the first units to be taken out of duty. Right now it seems as if the hull will only be patched watertight to allow further use of the vessel for another month or two until a final decision about its faith can be made.

Pretoria. The South Africian Minister of Air Defence and Aeronautics, Graaf Joed Bloomstedd, K.G.H., and most famous aeronautic pioneer of the South African Empire, expressed his worries during a dinner about not hearing from Japans most famous Mr. Manzo for quite a while. The Japanese pilot seems to be lost without a trace. Nobody has heard of him for weeks. Further more he expressed his hope that “this undesired Yemen Incident” is over now where the missed singer is found. “I have heard of many crises and wars started due to very weird reasons but due to a ´stolen´ singer? Never!” he continued.
