Coal powered might!

The Philippines desired to lessen its dependence on expensive and so began a series of experiments to evaluate coal, alchol and other sources of energy for ships, cars and aircraft. one of these experiments were the Kingdom class ships (in reality not a class at all being different in size and armament) of wich the first was the

Lots of iron, and I'm fairly sure that there is coal somewhere in Sweden, and even a decent amount of oil - it's just under the Norwegian Sea.

On the other hand, I do have a heck of a lot of peat bogs, so that could be used. Does anyone have the article about the Irish battlecruiser with the complex system for distributing peat briquettes and 6" shells?

Mind you, a 215,000 horsepower coal-burning marine plant would probably make enough smoke to screen a fleet review.

A bit of early for off-shore plattforms and there is coal in Scania dont know how much ( coal being the main import from Germany during WW2)
