Peruvian Naval Infantry Brigade (as of September 1st 1933)
With the arrival of the March 1933 draft, championed by Field Marshall Arjona to increase the size of the Army after his failure to defeat Bolivia during his summer campaign, the Peruvian Naval Infantry was born. So his rival Naval Minister De la Garza assent to this increase in the size of the Army, Arjona agreed to allow De la Garza to have the pick of the new recruits and to allow the Naval Branch to have a ground unit. The Naval Brigade was formally announced as created on April 1st 1933 and it was being trained still at the end of the winter by the German military mission. The Brigade followed a similar organization to the German Infantry division in regard to weapons, contrary to the Army units were the lack of MMG and support weapons was common even in the Regular Army units.
