Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
10 033 lbs / 4 551 Kg = 8,6 x 14,0 " / 356 mm shells or 1,5 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1,21
Metacentric height 3,8 ft / 1,2 m
Roll period: 14,2 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 100 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0,36
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1,65

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has raised quarterdeck
Block coefficient: 0,759
Length to Beam Ratio: 5,50 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 19,00 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 44 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 65
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): -25,00 degrees
Stern overhang: 0,00 ft / 0,00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 16,40 ft / 5,00 m
- Forecastle (20 %): 11,48 ft / 3,50 m
- Mid (50 %): 11,48 ft / 3,50 m
- Quarterdeck (30 %): 19,69 ft / 6,00 m (13,29 ft / 4,05 m before break)
- Stern: 19,69 ft / 6,00 m
- Average freeboard: 14,52 ft / 4,43 m
Ship tends to be wet forward

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 82,6 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 84,5 %
Waterplane Area: 19 991 Square feet or 1 857 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 99 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 125 lbs/sq ft or 609 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 0,94
- Longitudinal: 1,66
- Overall: 1,00
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is excellent
Room for accommodation and workspaces is cramped
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Excellent seaboat, comfortable, can fire her guns in the heaviest weather

Roughly sketched after the British "Collingwood-class" ocgf the same year. the "Fininsh Elephant" as she is known in the fleet

Would they have torpedo tubes on battleships in 1880? The Whiteheads were still in early use from lowered cages at this time....i think.

Otherwise I guess it looks alright for the time period. I have only one book that I'm borrowing on that time period to help in Navalism. Those 14 inch guns won't have a very long range (probably 25 caliber using black powder) and I think some of these style guns, for the British at least, had problems, (of the exploding kind) but those were solved.
