i'll probably fix this with real news snippets, but i've had writer's block again recently, and people are moving on to Q4 already, so.....
thus far pertinent news is as follows;
a further two CLs have been authorized, and will be laid down next quarter, to be named Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. No change in design, consiered part of the Manitoba class.
RCMP ice strengthening refits concluded, ships are expected to start being sent out sometime next quarter.
newbuild St. Roch type ships are still being fitted out and expected to be completed next quarter.
the homeless RCN ships have made arrangements to stage from chinese ports for the time being. This decision was made due to concerns of overcrowding in the remaining Filipino ports (i'm assuming the alternate facilities mentioned aren't any bigger than Manila's), and to assist in chinese efforts to locate and neutralize the "Ning Hai". the RCN ships will also continue to operate with Australian units and independantly against pirates in Filipino waters as well in hopes of discouraging any opportunistic ne'erdowells from taking advantage of the filipino plight (or blight?)
If I've forgotten anything, throw something at me.
