June 7, 1926
Chiles Ambassidor Fox was in Atlantis today to discuss a deal to purchase Floatplane carriers.
Disscussions on deals to train Chilean pilots for additional squadrons also took place.
June 11, 1926
Today the Atlantian Defence Minister announced the fleets plan to rebuild 8 of the Admiralty class destroyers currently taken out of service. The new refit will greatly increase their usefullness in the fleet at a fraction of the cost to build new destroyers. The remaining ships of the Admiralty class have had their armaments removed. Its unclear what their fate will be.
June 19, 1926
Today the league of nations denied both the claims to the Paracel islands made by Chile and the Philippines. Citing lack of suficient evidence on the claim of their usefullness as a base for fighting pirates the decision was almost unanimous.
July 1, 1926
Eight of the elderly Admiralty class destroyers have entered the shipyards to undergo their rebuilds.
The ships will emerge as some of the best armed destroyers in the fleet.
July 2, 1926
The Russian Ice breaker Laptev Sea arrived from her ordeal in the Arctic Ocean. The ship received moderate damage after being trapped in the ice. The Russian ordeal has made the Atlantian govt. consider building their own purpose build Icebreaker/Exploration vessel in order to expand its own Artic exploration program.
July 13, 1926
El Aquila was in Atlantis this week. The primary item on the agenda was discussing possible future amendments to the Cleito Treaty, and the recent Paracels Islands crisis was also a conversation topic...
"Personally we felt that neither party truely needed those Islands to operate against mere pirates", stated the Atlantian league of nations representative Tauri Nema. "while we beleive the Chileans had good intentions clearly the threat of their presence angered other nations in the region so we could not grant the request on an easy stomach". Mr. Nema continued..."the philippines already possesses many Islands in the region and has more than enough bases to deal with Piracy. With the Iberians taking control of the Paracels via the League of Nations the situation has been taken care of in our veiw".
July 27, 1926
Treaty of Mutual freindship and Non-agression signed!
Today Atlantian Foreign Minister Maren Xanthus stated that.. "both Atlantis and the United States signed a treaty today designed to premote the level of freindship out two nations enjoy". Amoung the treaty's agreements will be the commencment of an officer exchange program and lucrative trade agreements. The treaty was signed by Mr. Xathus and American Secretary of State Frank B. Kellogg.
August 4, 1926
The Honorable Aristide Briand, Foreign Minister of France announced today the establishment of the "French Union". It has begun as a Department of the Ministry for Colonies, and it will have two functions:
1) Prepare French colonies politically, culturally, economically, and militarily for decisions concerning self-determination.
2) Provide a structure for continued political, cultural, economic, and military relations between members of the French Union subsequent to their decisions concerning self-determination.
Options for self-determination include, but are not limited to:
Continuation as a Colonial possession of France.
Incorporation into the Republic of France, with colonial subjects in the colony concerned gaining all the rights and duties of French citizenship.
Full independence.
Despite its beginning as a Department of the Ministry for Colonies, it is envisioned that the day will come when there is a Department of Colonies within the Ministry of Union Affairs.
Foreign Minister Briand commented:
"It is clear that the day is coming when arrangements that have been mutually suitable in the colonies of France may no longer be so. We think it wise to prepare for that day, lest it come upon us of its own volition."

August 27, 1926
The Chilean Light Cruiser Hyatt encounted a vessel dubbed the "Deathshadow" near the Santa Cruz Islands. Apparently the Hyatt left the engagement with severe damage and no resulting hits on the suspected pirate ship. Atlantian officials are stumped at the source of these Pirate attacks.
Plenty of accusations have been thrown around by the various alliances and nations in the region
but Atlantian officials didn't want to publicly speculate who could be behind the attacks.
Sept 18, 1926
It was announced publicly that the Chilean government has bought a pair of Atlantian floatplane carriers and 12 subchasers, the Chilean governement is paying Atlantis over the next year. The purchase should improve Chile's reconaisance and anti-sub capability's.
Sept 19, 1926
News of the South African and Indian expedition's in the Artic have renewed the debate about the role of the limited Atlantian expedition on the Antartic peninsula. Its still unclear if funds will be deverted to build an exploration vessel and expand the already limited efforts going on there.
