Dansk Industrie Syndicat AS, the producers of the "Madsen" series of infantry weapons, have announced the successful signing of a contract to supply arms and accessories to the Army of The Kingdom of Siam. While details of the size of the contract, and the weapons involved were not released, a spokesman for the company said "We are very pleased with this deal, which was won in the face of strong competition from the Japanese and Americans. It is hoped that this contract will herald the start of a continued growth in business between Denmark and Siam".

Although The Kingdom of Siam has 'favoured nation status' for purposes of trade with Denmark, this is the first instance of an armaments deal with the Siamese Army. It is hoped that the Royal Dockyards can also gain from this appearant change in buying policy from the Siamese government.

In a related story, Tuborg SA has announced that in a deal with Singha Brewing Pty of Bangkok, the two companies are to start distributing the others products in their home markets. A spokesman for Singha, in Copenhagen to sign the contract, said "It is our eanrest hope the the good people of Denmark will enjoy our beer just as much as I know the people of Siam will enjoy Tuborg"
