Bomber circa 1938

Two of my own designs. Both have same engines. First is a fast bomber concept second has heavy defense armament

What do You think?

I like the upper one, though the gondola wouldn't be good for a fast bomber and you might want to install a turret vs the flexible dorsal mount. The lower one looks too blocky for my tastes.

gondola removed.
However turret will increase drag and weight.

This is the escort a year younger that the bomber circa 1939

And this is the basic fighter.

Agreed, a turret will add weight and drag, but it will also allow defence at angles the flexible mount won't.

By WW 1938, the day of the parasol-wing, fixed landing gear fighter is long over, even in OTL it's sun is setting very rapidly.

Yeah Sorry about that.
Wyszkoni Model 10 is a older fighter mid 1930's.

About the no turret on the fast bomber.
Althou turret is a good idea I feel that putting one on a fast bomber is a waist of speed and range that comes from drag and weight increase.

Reveille BS6 sports 12 MG's as defence armament.
Wyszkoni Model 21 has 2 MG (nose and bottom) and a cannon in dorsal flexible mount.

If a dorsal turret be implemented this plane will loose its biggest advantage it has over its rival, with is speed.

I agree with Hrolf on the "Rascal", though she wouldn't make a bad trainer or scout if she has the range.

Those planes were design for a fantasy nation.
Said nation has Two Aircraft manufacturers
"Wyszkoni" and "Reveille"
I wanted to create a situation were a nation has a heavy fighter and a Bomber that are modern but the basic frontline fighter is becoming absolute.

The other side is even worst off.
