Local Naval Unit Being Transferred
Long-suffering crews of the forward 150mm gun casemates of 6th Cruiser Squadron have had their prayers answered - When General-Admiral Apraxin class light cruisers finish sea trials this June, they will be organized into 7th Cruiser Squadron and assigned to Northern Fleet at Murmansk. Admiral Lazarev class cruisers of 6th Cruiser Squadron will be reassigned to forward elements of Black Sea Fleet presently at Brest, France. Above-named casemate crews are delighted at prospect of occasionally being lightly dampened by warm, gentle seas in Bay of Biscay, rather than constantly drenched by violent, icy waters above Arctic Circle.
Crews of 4th Cruiser Squadron, also consisting of four Admiral Lazarev class cruisers, have been enjoying their deployment to Carribean Sea, and their letters to Murmansk have caused considerable envy among personnel of 6th Cruiser Squadron. Says one anonymous seaman, "Now we get a chance at sunny, warm beaches instead of being tossed about on icy, stormy seas during frigid nights that never end. Its about time!!"
