Atlantis Daily Globe, June 25th 1921

June is turning out to be a busy month for the shipyards of Atlantis. The last two destroyers of the F class, the ANS Foresite and ANS Fury have completed fitting out and are set to go on trials. Work on these last two destoyers was suspended while the talks on the treaty of Cleito commenced. Emediately after the talks were concluded work continued and a subsequent follow on class, the G class DD's were laid down. Six of the twelve ships were laid down in January and are now set to launch in the next couple of days. Its expected that the next batch of ships will be laid down as soon as the slips have been cleared and made ready.
The ANS Gabriel, Gallant, Gipsy, Gauntlet, Grafton and Griffon will spent the next six months fitting out and are expected to start trials in january of next year.
To add to the bustleing shipyards of Atlantis the CL Caracus has also launched and is expected to be fitting out untill October. The ANS Caracus is the 7th ship of the Eridanus class of light cruisers and is essentially the first ship of a second batch of Eridanus class laid down to bolster the fleet of Atlantis in Venezuelan waters hence the names of Venezuelan citys. The Caracus's sisters Valencia, Maracaibo and Ascanius are due to launch in September of 1921. Its speculated that Atlantis will now focus on heavy cruiser construction as its current CA fleet is deemed inadiquate.
In September the cadets of the Atlantian navy will be busy as well. In all four ships will be carrying out trials.
Aside from the DD's Fury and Foresite the ANS Melampus, the most powerfull BB in the Atlantian fleet has been on trials for several months now and will soon be joined by her sister the ANS Theseus, due to complete fitting out in the next couple of days.
The shipyards are busy indeed, for when this reporter tried to get a statement from a navy representive he was away from his office. This reporter thinks that rather than go for a drink at the local waterfront pub, perhaps he should instead take a swim at the beach in Deucalion.
