Greece has rebuilt an Akhilleus class Frigate,
F-1 Akhilleus as a special trials ship for training with new armament and fitted new boilers with a higher working pressure. The ship will be classed as a Training Destroyer.
The Akhilleus is one of forty Type E series ships built for the Greek navy in the late 1920's including Frigates, Gunboats, Seaplane tenders and Minelayers built on a common hull. Two of the Akhilleus class,
Europa and
Narcissus were completed as destroyers
Smeul and
Sborul for the Romanian Navy.
