C. Naval Development and Construction

Important Note:

In reviewing my spreadsheet covering German naval construction I found a serious error that requires correction. I discovered that I had entered the wrong tonnage for the Höllpass class vehicle landing ships laid down in January 1949 which resulted in an under-allocation of tonnage in the 1st and 2nd Quarters. Rather than retcon those sim reports, it is my intent to allocate tonnage in the 3rd and 4th Quarters to cover the deficiency, and to assure the correct allocation of tonnage to subsequent construction of such vessels.

As the two vessels under construction – Höllpass at Cuxhaven and Scharnitzpass at Kiel – received insufficient tonnage to have been launched on the dates noted in the 2nd Quarter Sim Report, this sim report will include a correction of the build time as well as a 45 day delay in their revised launch date as compensation for the error. This will delay the planned laying-down of their successor vessels in my original spreadsheet.
