???????????????????????//
I found a little problem in the C.T. and hopefully one of you can clarify....
Class 1 subs - 1500 or 2000 tons????
Both sizes are mentioned in the text.
1500
The 2000t displacement is found in the definitions part I believe.
but which is right?
I ask because the 450 ton limit for the class 2 subs is not mentioned in the body of the treaty.
Ah, damn. It is 1500 t.
If I recall - now that my memory's been jogged - the 2000 t was to allow retention of existing big subs if somebody had them. They just weren't to be built afterward.
Battle-subs
What will this do to the Battle-submarines and carrier-submarines?
Actually, has anyone though about a submersible aircraft carrier? I mean with something like a lighter carrier's compliment of fighters....in the modern era, VTOL it would be possible, though today it isn't really needed, as the only nations that could afford such a task already have carriers and don't need to hide them.
