Vladivostok Verifier, 5 November 1934

In anticipation of our French allies transerring their newly completed Richelieu class battleships to French Pacific Fleet, our battleships Sevastopol and Poltava will no longer be required in Russia's Pacific Fleet. Their guns will be removed for reinforcing Russia's coast defenses on Sakhalin Island and Kamchatka. Both ships will be transferred to Black Sea Fleet, where their disposition will be determined.
