Two triples and a superfiring twin?

Overall, doesn't look too bad.

Yes 2x3 and a twin superfiring

Agree, other than the speed, looks pretty decent. Myself, I'd want more speed, but that's me. I'd probably trade the end belts (not that they weigh much) for more power.

Hmmmm. No deck armor?

I would like more speed as well but compromises has to be done and 30kts make them fast enough to operate with the Kaveh

I assume those are the C class cruisers you're getting from the RN? I once looked into massively rebuilding the Hawkins class with new turrets, and was told it was not really feasible to put barbettes into an old ship that wasn't designed for them.

30 knots for a cruiser is plenty for restricted seas

Russia's Pallada class in the Baltic does 30 knots, while the Admiral Lazarev class in the Black Sea does 31.

Lack of deck armor on Mozaffer is worrisome though. Bulge her a bit more and she'll be able to take an inch or so.

The question is if a deckarmor barely capable of stopping strafing is worth it?

Might be

20mm will resist Russian 130mm fire out to 12,000m and 152mm fire out to 10,000.

40mm will resist 130mm fire out to 18,000m and 152mm fire out to 17,000.

Deck armor could very well be worth it.

Any of our local artists that are willing to do a pic of this?

Since it seems to have been lost in the shuffle....

The inability to fit barbettes into a ship that did not previously have them is the reason why the RCN Chesters and Hawkins have gone unmodernized.

Springsharp doesn't reflect this because Springsharp assumes the general hull construction is all as-designed

I am not very familiar with ship construction, so whay cant ships have barbettes and hoists when I am already more or less gutting the ship to install a new engine and armor deck?

Because you'd be removing structural elements necessary for the strength of the ship. AFAIK, you can build in a barbette to take the strength of the lost structure, but that becomes very very expensive and generally not worth the effort.

Why not make them mount and hoist guns, or use 130mms?

I guess mount and hoists will have to do

Personally I would go with an all twins or triple layout for 8/9 guns just for simplicity's sake but other than that a nice conversion.

Why not try a CLAA version?

Why 7"? Doesn't seem to be too common a caliber - the only modern gun I'm familiar with in that area is the now-Canadian 7.5".
