When asked about the claims in the Issue of El Pais dated yesterday, the Italian Government spokesman said that this is absoloutly true. The Iberian and Italian are cooperating on naval matters.

We interviewed fishermen near the port of Cagliari and they said that "iberian ships are getting to be a common sight. we reported this to the authorities some months ago, but were promptly told to be quiet"

How this recent development fits in with recent events, we are can only speculate, but we are sure that there is reason behind this strange action by our government.
