New submarine class announced!

16th Submarine Flotilla to be scrapped

Pacific Fleet Headquarters commenced scrapping submarines of 16th Flotilla at several Pacific fleet bases. When interviewed, Pacific fleet spokesman Commander Pavel Ivanovich Spiridov remarked "These submarines are nearly 20 years old, and were not included when others of their class underwent refit in 1927, and their condition is increasingly poor. We have not yet had accidents on them causing loss of ship, but risks are rising with each mission. Their commanders and crews will be retained, and will enter training program for Bars class submarine to be laid down next year. This new class will have greater speed and endurance than any submarine presently in Russian Federation fleet, and we are eagerly awaiting their completion."
