From a purely asthetic point of view, I tend to find the encyclopedias with more than just a wall of springsharp reports more compelling for browsing. Some pictures and history/rationale for a design goes a long way.

Folks might notice that I have a very exact way of organizing my encyclopedias to make the sims more readable, and I always try to make an index post which lists all of the ships and occasionally a summary. (And if there are a lot of posts in a particular file - for instance, the Chilean destroyer thread - I set up internal hyperlinks.)

I´m always confused if somebody uses a ship name that I cannot find in an encyclopedia until I note to which class the vssel belongs.
