Vacations

In a swift move the Royal Family had left Pretoris for two weeks towards Noord Holland.

So what evil things have you planned during this invasion? :)

No evil plans, sorry. Sun. Beach. Flying kites. Visits to Den Helder, Texel and Alkmaar. Probably Amsterdam too. We will see. Depends on the Ladies.

With a 4 year old and a 2 year old kid in the van - are you serious?

No. No. Funny mushrooms we are not interested in...

Back and catching up.

Seems like the board is really, really quite now. What's up?

I started a new job two weeks ago and can only play in the evenings now, rather than getting things done when my wife was at work? :P

I've been preoccupied with various things, much of which had to do with employment over the past year +. After 17 1/4 years, I chose to leave my last place of work. While I kinda expected it, I was gratified to be contacted and offered other work by two outfits fairly quickly, so I subcontracted for a bit and finally got the job I wanted, but it took nearly 2 months to get through the paperwork and mandatory physicals- plural because they forgot to ask for some checks the first @#$@ time. During that period I had time, but little inclination or energy to participate. So, now, I have started a new job several weeks ago, it's 4x10hrs, which leaves me with little mental energy to spare, and I've been busy on the 3 day weekends.

So...I plan to once again try to get back on the band wagon, but I've been completely tuned out for about a month and a half.

Actually, I already wondered where you have been...

There had been some discussion/news where I thought you normally would react to it.

Good to hear you got the job you wanted. I doubt all of us can say that...

Well, it's another 20years until retirement for me, which is a bit sad as Sept 6, 1994 was the start of my work career post-College...that's only 19 years of work and I have more than that to go...
I've gone from a private industrial forester to a state research forester, which I hope to maintain for those aforementioned 20 years. At least I got paid to hike around and look at trees today.

Either you are *very* young, or you need a better retirement program. ;)

Retirement age will be 67 and I am 24.

Yoicks! And I thought making it through 32 years was bad enough. I feel for you... :(

I've got another 37 years until I retire, and that's only if the government doesn't keep raising the retirement age before I get there. Generally most Brits my age agree we probably won't retire until we hit our 70s.

Now, what should I say? I am self-employed - so no fixed retirement at all....
