A powerful strike force consisting of 10 DH-4Bs, 15 P6-Es, and some Bristol Fighters and SPAD XIIIs ran into the largest force put up by the rebels. The Rebel force was estimated at some ten aircraft. The two forces clashed in a furious battle lasting some 20 minutes. The FAM claims to have shot down 6 rebels aircraft in exchange for losing 3 DH-4s, 1 P6E, and 1 SPAD XIII. The reason for the furious battle became aperant after federal ground forces overran the Rebel airfield a few hours later. Some eyewitnesses report seeing a pair of strange new monoplane fighters among the rebels. The planes are supposed to have been clocked at over 350 km/h!

Bad feeling, having about this I am...

May 10th, 1932
State and War Department officials are reported to be deeply concerned with revelations that Japanese mercenaries may be involved in the recent violence in western Mexico. While there has been no official comment on the situation, privately concerns are being raised that this may be a Japanese attempt to destabilize the Mexican government in order to disrupt the construction of the Trans-Mexican Canal or worse.

For some odd reason, I can hear the Japanese citizens chanting "Rocky Sucks!" over and over again.
:-)

Perhaps the Mexicans no longer want the Japanese messin the place up!

If the crowd chants Rocky sucks, he'll just become a movie star!

India is profoundly disturbed at the slaughter of Japanese diplomatic personnel in Mexico and will be recalling all non-essential staff from the country until such time as Mexico can ensure their safety.

Also disturbing is the notion that anybody could prefer Cena to Edge, but that's another matter entirely.

[Canada's two cents pending coordination with Walter :O ]

iunno why people don't like Cena. They all look the same rolling around on the floor in their spandex. :B

Editor's note: There has been a small error in the Cinco de Mayo news. The captured mercenary was chinese not japanese.

May 30th

Investigators looking at the death of the Japanese Ambassarod are totally mystified. No cause has been found for this attrocity. How he was killed is also a mystery, the closest the investigators have come to a similar case is the death of a man who fell into the Lion's cage in the Chaputlepec Zoo. The only point in which they agree is that no Mexican was responsible for its death.

The only reason why I cheer for Edge is because I really dislike Cena.
... but I did enjoy watching Cena throw Edge into Long Island Sound some weeks ago.

How do they know the lion wasn't Mexican? And why don't people fall into the tree sloth or marmoset exhibit, only the terrible man-eating ones?

Oh, they do.

It just doesn't make the headlines, because anyone who manages to get mauled by a tree sloth isn't going to be missed much.

China inserts complaint against the statement that the mercenary would be Chinese. The President of the People's Republic of China requires an official apology or proofs for this statement.
All Chinese pilots fly exclusively for their native country. They are thus no mercenaries, who let themselves be bought for no money of the world.

If it should concern against expecting nevertheless a Chinese citizen, then he must be supplied to the Chinese jurisdiction immediately.

June 5th

Further information has been released by the FAM on the subject of the captured Mercenary. It appears that it has all been a mistake. Federal forces looking for the pilot of the downed fighter instead came upon an "oriental" man looking at the wreckage. With rumors about foreign mercenaries flying for the rebels, he was arrested immidietly. It later became apperant that he was simply a local Chinese merchant who came upon the wreckage during a stroll. He has been released and an apology sent to the Chinese Ambassador.

Back to the news,

June 10th

Further information has become available on the Ambassador case. Autopsyies revealed that while a large number of wounds appear to have been caused by the claws and fangs of a large predator, there are a few that seem to be caused by a long, thin, very sharp instrument.

Investigators have also found that the Ambassador has been in contact with the Japanese blackmarket and possibly other blackmarkets. A secret room containing weapons from around the world was discover in his mansion. Investigators have come to the conclusion that this might have been a factor in his assasination.

"Well, no. We lost contact with them about three minutes later, right after the screaming started."

"See, that's a detail. We need those."

June 17th

The Police has released details of a horrendous and gruesome tale. It began on the 13th. A man was seen to fall into the rabbit's cage. He was immidiently and violently beheaded in a gruesome attack by the cage's occupant. The Zoo was immidietly evacuated, police and military units where immidietly sacrambled to the scene. A number of scientists and veterinarians where also called. There was no explanation for the strange attack. The leading theory was that there was a rabbies epidemic. But the rabbit did not show rabies symtoms and none of the other animals where mad. A number of scientists well armored where attacked as they tried to approach the beast. Without another alternative, the decision was taken to destroy the little beast. A salvo of grenades finished of the rabbit. No casualty reports have been released but it's known more people where killed by the beast. What caused the attacks is still a mystery.
