115 mm DP gun

I am debating a gun like that but am undecided, when to start developing it. 1923 is waaay too eraly IMHO. 1927 or so? Opinions anybody?

115mm guns

The RSAN will have such a weapon in use soon (shields, no turrets).... The british started using twin 10,2" shields quite early so I don´t see any problems with a 115mm gun. However, if you think of DP-turrets like those casemate turrets used on british capitals and carriers or like those used on the late-war Battle-class DDs you´ll better wait some years.

The RM is using; a duple 100mm gun behind shields with a max elevation of 50degrees; a quadruple 100mm turret with a max elevation of 40degrees; a duple 130mm turret with 40degree elevation; a duple 130mm mount with 50 degree elevation; and a 3"/60 single mount with free train and elevation.
