I'm assuming this qualifies as a Coastal Defense Armorclad and not a Capital Ship.

Aside from that it looks fine...where will these two be stationed?

Alternate designs for one ship, or two ships?

'Claimed' displacement will probably be ~7950t...so they fit as CDAs.

I like the second one better (tho with the 57mm fit of the first); however I'd try to lift the freeboard a tick to avoid taking it green over the bows...
(Not that my BB32 has any room to talk...)

Ok, I think this will be the built version.

After AK's brief description of ships to come, I had a rethink!

Point 1 - She isn't going to be chasing after attackers, just hopefully chasing them off (or sinking them!)

Point 2 - As a result of having to "stick around", she doesn't need the higher speed, just to cruise at the convoy's best speed.

Point 3 - Chasing after subs can be left to the sloops/frigates that make up the rest of the escort.

So, what do you think?

Yup...

Commodore, your 3 points pretty much capture my thinking on the requirements to fill the escort cruiser role.

Raise the freeboard a bit, and you'll get a bit more hull strength too.

Quoted

6 - 5.12" / 130 mm guns (2x3 guns), 67.03lbs / 30.40kg shells, 1925 Model
Breech loading guns in turrets (on barbettes)
on side, all amidships, all raised mounts - superfiring

Aren't these actually supposed to be superfiring the main battery?

Otherwise, looks OK to me.
