Re: Map of the way down under...

A different view to more accurately show the territories.
(corrected location of M.E.V.O.S.)
Also, still looking for comments and corrections on The Big Ass Map

Top view... I mean bottom view of the Antarctic, MEVOS should be on the southside of the island...
In this case the bottom of the map is not pointing south.

The interior of the Filipino "claim" should be marked as the Uncharted Territories...

I deliberately removed all the various region, sea, and ice shelf names since I figured we have different people exploring the continent in Wesworld, so we'll have different names.

"My point exactly"

Well, that's the first name attached by the Filipinos to their piece of Penguinistan. :-)

OKeydoke then. Noted and added. I'll update the online map tomorrow or Monday after some other people post their comments. Roadrunner is being a bitch as usual so uploading files is a bit of a hit and miss proposition right now so I don't want to do it with every change least I get frustrated and throw my cable modem out the window.

Just a location along the Antarctic coast that I selected. It's in the neighbourhood of the Lillie Marleen Hütte.

What that Japanese are doing there? Well they're freezing their @$$€$ off of course. :-)

Naturally! Thus each of the Satsuma Nations has some 'special' feature. :-)
Filipinos => Exploding Ships.
Indians => Hungry Tigers.
Chosen => Japanese Warship Garbage Can #1.
Formosa => Japanese Warship Garbage Can #2.
Pacifica => Giant Swimming Pool.
Japanese => Frozen bottoms.
:-)

Looks like Siam just vollunteered to join the ranks of SATSUMA. ^_^

No, just pointing out that there are "interesting" things outside SATSUMA as well; look at Atlantis, they go on a 2 week bender each year, and call it a national holiday!!!
(Can't really talk, we Irish call the same thing "Paddy's Day!!)

Sunday, August 21st 2005, 11:58pm

The scary thing is some Atlantians still go to work durring this holiday!

I don't see much else that could use changing at this time on the Big Map. I'd suppose the Chaco area is the only unknown at this time in terms of how to represent it between Bolivia and Paraguay.

(I suppose colored or lined as a disputed area could work?)

Time for an update...

Again, revising the Filipino claims and adding the Australians' (and the Oz-SAE 'overlap'...and looks like Oz-SAE-France for a bit, too!):

Philippines: 105°E-150°E

Oz: 65°E-105°E

...and the Philippines' piece of Penguinistan is still known as the Uncharted Territories. ;-)

Overlapping claims only make it more interesting. :-)

In that case, Japan's part would be known as "Explorer's Alley". Scott, Amundsen, Shackleton and Shirase all operated in that zone.
