Weight of turrets

of a triple 150mm turret with 100mm armor and of a dual 150mm with 75mm protection?

Thanks in advance.

Probably about 130-150 tons for the first one, maybe 60+ tons for the second one.

Make a springsharp sim of a ship with 1 triple 150mm turret with 100mm armour.

Check what the "Armament" and "Armour" weights are in the breakdown.

Do the same for a twin 150mm with 75mm armour.

120 tons for a triple, 90 for a dual. Thanks.

I looked on Navweps at the turret weights. In general I've found Springsharp tends to low-ball the weight of armaments for non-capital ship weapons.

Perdy, the dual armerment is also underestimated because SS does not account for the weight of high angle mounts. For example, a study was conducted in 1942 that figured out that a DE carrying 2 5'' DP guns could carry 5 5'' SP guns, abeit of a lower caliber. That is hopefully something the next redition, if it ever comes out, of SS3 to fix.

I'm assuming Perdedor is asking because he wants to produce some coastal emplacements, or something else game related. In which case, despite it's shortcomings, the tonnage and other values should be derived from the Springsharp reports for their minimum weights and costs, at least.

IMO the solution to get the weights more accurate is to sim the 5.9" turrets as automatics which would add extra equipment.

That still doesn't explain why it's low on a 150mm non-HA mount.
