January 1st

With the Ratification of the ammendments to the Non-agression treaty between our Nation, and the Dominion of Canada, the Government has announced that trade connections will be re-established.

January 4th

To Great celebration in the Admiralty, the Navy laid down the first of a New Class of Battleships today in Karlskrona Naval Dockyard. The Class, designed to project Nordmarks power across the Atlantic rapidly, have extended range, and feature an all Dual Purpose secondary Armament suite in a move away from the fitting of 150mm guns on Capital ships.

January 7th

Several Government officers have arrived in Berlin for talks with the German Government. When asked the reason for the talks they sighted the desire of our Government to establish better trade ties with Germany, independent of other treaties.

15th Jan

The Navy has chosen to commence construction of two new airships, larger than the South African built South Georgia, and similar in size to the Germans Hindenburg type ships.

21st Jan

The Navy has announced that the possibility of the old Battlecruiser Oscar II being sold, rather than being scrapped has reduced as the Mexican navy has had to at least temporarily withdraw it's bid for the ship, though the possibilty of the sale taking place hasn't been ruled out.

30th January

After nearly a months discussions the trade talks with Germany resulted in the expansion of the already existing Non-agression pact, seeing significant cuts in trade duties, especially on Iron Ore from the north of the country, to Germany.

1st February

The Air-force has officially accepted the first 4 full squadrons of Sopwith Odin fighters into full service. The Fleet Air arm has also announced that, come the summer, trials will be carried out with both its own aircraft and Air-force planes in order to better improve co-operation between the services.

12th February

The Government has come to an agreement with the Atlantean Government to purchase a liscence to build as many of the MTB-81 type MTB's as it wants here in Nordmark, after the first 10 ordered from Atlantis performed well in sea trials off Oslo

More likely that the Vice-admiral responsible for organising the purchase didn't either fall in the North Sea or get too sea sick when he was aboard

1st March
Karlskrona

Work has finally been completed on the two new Orn class Aircraft Carriers that have been constructed for the Navy. The ships will now enter a period of extended trials prior to entering service with the fleet.

5th March
Stockholm

After much Pencil pushing the Navy has laid the keels of two new airships in Parralel hangers at the Navy airship station north of the city. The ships, comparable in size to the German Hindenberg are intended for use as fleet reconisance units, though the possibility of fitting a Saab Viking fighter for a fighter defence component has not been ruled out by the designers.
