I've simply been carrying forward the attitude I perceived between RAM's Dutch and Rocky's Indians.
It's mostly OOC like this stuff, but shows up in some IC stuff like the LON talks.
They denounce the Dutch (and others, though they've only invaded us of late) as marauding Imperialist Europeans and call us names, we act paranoid and claim the Indians are conspiring against us, and call them names, etc etc. It's a time honored belligerence. :)

"act paranoid"???? What do you mean, act???

Let's see, India invaded us, right after the peace added battleships, organized SATSUMA against us, and as predicted by the more paranoid Dutch, pulled out of Cleito right about when they were running out of allowed tonnage.

You're right, it's not paranoia when they are plotting against us.

Of course......

The next sign, fed by the clams between the Dutch and French borders, will be the suspicions that the Germans are being controlled by the perfidious Indians and the raising of an army to deal with the problem on the Dutch border.

The paranoid back bench (are they still the back bench when in power?) have not..quite... gone there yet, and I will thank you not to encourage them. The Dutch continue to be annoyed that two countries they consider "friends" and vital economic partners- the Germans and the South Afrikans, continue to lend aid and arm their worst enemy. That's just a fact.

The Clams are feeling more secure right now, even in the face of the German buildup, because joining the UKN added a large airforce, army, 4 layers of fortifications, a navy and a chokehold on the Rhine- substantially increasing the costs of German aggression.

However, the Clam's (Belgium)'s continuing paranoia/distrust of Germany is why they are perfectly happy, regardless of what the Dutch think, to sell arms to Poland.

What do you envisage this to look like????

And now what you've all been waiting for, the first letter, more to come. Oh and credit goes to Agent148 for composing this, although I do take credit for the idea.

Field Marshall Kustrzeba, 2nd January, 1935

Marshal Kustrzeba, for many years you and I have not agreed on matters of state, we have without belabouring the point, often been fiercly opposed in our opinions and ways of doing things. Although we share a love and devotion to our country and a strong desire for it's future security and prosperity. I do not intend to rehash old arguments to no purpose.

However, since leaving Polish military service, some five years ago, I have put together a plan to advance Polish territorial aspirations that if properly supported by the Polish Armed Forces and the Polish civil government, has every chance of success, without I might add involving Poland in a major European conflict. By cloaking it's outward appearance in the form of an internal insurrection within the targetted country.

I have aquired sufficient men and materials - though a network of intelligence agents, couriers and suppliers, as well as military specialists and recruits (some 50,000 so far and going stronger by the day, all chosen from reliable persons of Polish stock or citizenship, with the exception of a few individuals) I have established since 1930 with much labour and secrecy - to carry out this plan which if combined with existing military operations staff plans for the invasion of the Republic of Lithuania will either give us a major foothold in Lithuania or grant us the entire country if the Lithuanian government collapses over it.

It is my intention to launch this operation sometime in the late summer to early autumn of this year, circumstances permitting. I fear that it cannot be delayed much longer then that, as the Lithuanian Intelligence and Security Services are competent, and work tirelessly to appraise themselves of any threats to their countries internal and external security, they may soon realise that a revolt via their ethnic Polish citizenry is being planned and assembled in their midst.

Aleksy Letowska, Lieutenant-General (retd.)

If you like to know the figures for 5,000 Yamato-sized BBs, it would take Japan +3,200 years to build all of them but it will take Poland +21,800 years to pay for them. :)

General Sikorski looked around the room, sick to his stomach. Letowska, and Kurtzeba? But I thought they hated each other? As he put that letter aside, he reached for the next one.

Lieutenant-General Letowska January 2nd, 1935

No matter what title you may have given yourself, know that in Poland so long as I lead it, you will be known as a mere Lieutenant-General. Regarding your foolish idea to try to create an insurrection in Lithuania, and then proceed to annex the rebellion to Poland, to eventually lead to an annexation of Lithuania know this: although I am somewhat in favour of a conflict in Europe, I am not in favour of a conflict involving the Russian Army! However, should my endeavour to win Polish territory in another part of Europe resolve itself peacefully, then I would be agreeable to your preposterous scheme, so long as in return there is an understanding that should the Russian Army become involved, then no further Polish aid will be forthcoming.

Marshal Kurtzeba.

P.S. You don't have the balls to pull this off.

OOC I should have posted this one before the other. More letters to come.

*GASP!* Then this means that General Letowska is a cross-dressing woman?!?! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!

That explanation does explain his insane desire to build a massive Poland, with borders that will be dealt with in the next letter. We all know women are definately irrational at times. :D Im expecting some comment on the next one from just about every nation that borders Poland.

Uh there's no ladies on this site are there?

There used to be, I think. I don't think there are any current and regular members of the feminine persuasion...

I would think that Wesworld has plenty of female characters around who would love to slap some sense into you with the Handbag With Brick Inside(tm) after that remark. :)

On further reflection, the lack of females in the sim may be entirely Walter's fault.... :P

I've never met Walter AFAIK. I just have too many other places to be and not enough hours in the day. However I may poke my head in occasionally.

Handbag? I wouldn't put a brick in any of my handbags! I own too few and I've paid enough for them all! Leather and brick aren't friends!

I'd be more likely to use one of the swords on the wall beside me. Particularly the sword leaf one that's about the right size for me.
