February 22nd 1937- Prime Minister Singh read the reports with deep interests. The latest reports are very interesting indeed. Can it be possible? He finally made his decision and signed the approval to continue the approach recommended by the Foreign Office.

February 27th 1937- Muhammad Ali Kammakuty sat on his seat on the airship taking him to the first leg to his trip to the SAE and wasn't happy at all. He loved Berlin and now that part of his life was over.

After the airship left he took a nap after reading for a while. When he wake up a small note was on the seat next to him. He looked around but everybody around was either sleep or playing sleep. He opened the note and it was short and to the point.

Herr Kammakuty,

We welcomed you to our club. I know you already have our invitation to visit our resort after you arrive to the Empire. We are looking forward to meet you.

PS. We know about your other mission and we are very pleased. We will help as much as we can

March 9th 1937- Muhammad Ali Kammakuty was sitting on the back of the limo taking him thru the coastal road to a resort hotel south of Durban.

The driver was a very silent African, just staring to the front and pretty much ignoring him. The last Muhammad remembered was being on his hotel on Durban before falling asleep, "I was drugged, " was his thought while trying to think his next move. He knew the people doing this must want him alive or he will be dead by now. So he tried to look calm but his mind was racing for ways out.

When Muhammad finally arrived he was dropped in a bungalow, told to change clothes and report to the main administrative building for introductions. He noticed how the clothes laid out for him were clothes of a peculiar nautical style, with a number attached to the coat. On the way to the building (they were signs everywhere pointing on that direction of that building) he also noticed a waving gesture consisting of the thumb and forefinger forming a circle over the eye, then tipped forward as a salute. Also the farewell "Be seeing you" was being used.

The building was a larger bungalow than the others, with a dwarf opening the door for him. Inside a man was sitting on a chair wearing the same clothes but a different number atttached, the other differences being that he has a multicolored scarf and was holding an umbrella stick.

Muhammad when straight to the point:
"Where am I?"
The other man responded:
"In the Village"
Muhammad: "What do you want?"
Other man: "Information."
Muhammad: "Whose side are you on?"
Other man: "You know who were are but that would be telling…. We want information. Information! INFORMATION!"
Muhammad: "You won't get it."
Other man: "By hook or by crook, we will."
Muhammad: "Who are you?"
Other man: "The new Number Two."
Muhammad: "Who is Number One?"
Other man: "You are Number Six."
Muhammad: "I am not a number — I am a free man!"

The man calling himself Number Two started to laugh. "Relax, Number Six. You know our purpose is to obtain information, that what Spearfish is all about. Welcome aboard. We do this little tests to see the temple of the men being assigned to us and we can see you have spirit. Nice meeting you and take the rest of the morning off, after lunch we will start your inbriefing."

Muhammad left fuming the bungalow, hating the way the South african do business. But he knew we was now part of this group and better make the best of it.

After he left the bungalow from another door a man stepped him and asked Number Two: Do you think he will do?

The response of Number Two was simple:"Yes, I think he will do Number One."

The bald headed man with a scar over his right eye strocking a Persian Cat smiled.

March 12th 1937- Muhammad was still "enjoying" the accomodations in the coastal South African resort when a note was delivered to him. "Be seeing you." told the messengerboy while giving the place waving gesture. Damn South Africans and their games. he thought but he understood that while odd any member of Spearfish could recognize themselves by these two stupid things.

The note was from a man he met on Berlin and was short.
"My superiors have agreed this have merits. Will sent dates for meeting later on.
Your friend,
JB"

Muhammad pondered for a second and knew the South Africans must want the same or at least to this to be a success. How much the South Africans know?

Bharat sees with concern the latest overreaction by the European nations to the speech by his Highness Pu-Yi during his Coronation Ceremony.

The idea of all Chinese being protected by their brethren is nothing new. See for example the Polish attempts in Lithuania and Teschen or the Germans in Sudetenland. The Emperor spoke in the sense of all Chinese being under his protection in spirit, not in the sense of being forced to join the Chinese Empire. If the Chinese in Indochina and the DEI feel content to be second-class citizens, even after being in that countries for generations, is their prerrogative. But in the opinion of our Foreign Office they could do better, specially in the Indies.

OOC: notice how we excluded Malaya and their large Chinese minority.

That concern would easily be aliviated if the various SATSUMA nations would tone down the racial retoric towards European nations.

The Polish attempt ended in tears, the Germans have not resorted to force. You'd think China would learn from those examples.

The Emperor spoke of taking back by force what would not be granted to them by diplomacy, namely the Paracels, an uninhabited Island not worth the dust up. A serious underestimation on the Chinese part I would think.

Lithuanian events....

were an example of how reckless policy aimed at "National unification" led to a short but very dangerous war that took tens of thousands of lives.

Russian Federation government were, due to their close involvement with Lithuanian war, gravely concerned by such rhetoric found in His Imperal Majesty's inaugural speech. Russian Federation government are somewhat relieved by subsequent assurances by Chinese government, but wonder about how they will manage popular reaction if popular expectations produced by His Imperial Majesty's speech go unfulfilled.

June 24th 1937- Excerpts of Prime Minister Singh's speech to the State Representatives in the Hall of Representatives (1)

"...my predecessors' achievements speak by themselves; the alliances with South Africa and our fellow Asian brothers, having a true force capable of defending the borders of our Empire from foreign adventurism and finally bringing the wayward sons to the West back into the fold of our benevolent Ruler..."

"...but not all Europeans are enemies. The Germans have being trusted friends for over 50 years now, their help giving us the chance to compete in the World on more even terms. Or the South Africans who considered us their equal and partners in achieving stability in the Ocean of Bharat or as the Europeans call it the Indian Ocean..." polite laugh from present delegates

"...change is coming. I don't know how will affect us in the short run but if we want to survive in the years ahead we will need to take drastic measures. Only Our Beloved Raj and history will judge the decisions I will propose to his Highness..."

(1) Even without political parties it makes sense to have a place for representatives of the states to meet to discuss issues of importance for all.
