Nice trainer. Looks vaguely Yakovlev inspired.

Nice, and with a solid nose you get a really interesting interdiction/strike aircraft

Very nice. I like the Iberian camouflage scheme. I was reading about the Il-28 recently in OKB Ilyushin by Yefim Gordon (great book for only £5), and was really impressed by it. A very workmanlike and practical design.

I think the prop version really doesn't need the swept tailplane. This is a quick sketch up of a possible change. I'm not sure on the ball tail turret either. It'd make an interesting Iberian competitor to their Do 217s.

Very sweet.
Probably just what Iberia and Denmark need to stay in the game regards foreign designs. With a solid nose you could pack at least eight 20mm in there.

RA, you got OKB Ilyushin for a fiver! 8o Where?

8x20mm might seem to be overkill. I seem to remember a nightfighter variant of the Cant Z.1018 mounting 8x20mm, but that was more from the lack of availability of MK108 and MK103. I would have thought a 37mm and some 13mm heavy machine guns would have been good enough.

OKB Ilyushin was a discount book from a market stall in Southampton, still new though. I was rather impressed considering it's a £30 book. I also got Soviet/Russian Aircraft Weapons for £5 which has lots of interesting stuff in. I really want OKB Sukhoi to complete the set, but haven't justified spending £40 for a copy yet. On the strength of OKB Ilyushin, I'd really recommend that series. Lots of technical detail, variant summaries, lots of pictures, and aircraft histories.

Yeah I've got OKB MiG (the first edition by Jay Miller) and OKB Yakovlev. I had a chance to buy OKB ilyushin a few years back but bulked at the cost (I already had an armful of books!)
I wish I had market stalls like that here!

Ok, eight 20mm is overkill but... this is Wesworld...overkill is good!
Eight MGs would work, rather like the A-26 Invader.
