As always, it's up to bidders to establish what price they're prepared to pay.
8,000 t bid on the three ex-Indian cruisers.
900 t still bid on five ex-Indian destroyers.
Who am I kidding?
Three ex-Indian cruisers sold to China for 8,000 t. Delivery 1/1/42, subject to the usual requirement that China no longer be a belligerent in a war.
Peru declines the 900 t offer for five ex-Indian destroyers, citing it as "disappointing".

But the German Shipbuilders Association politely inquires, "And what can I build for you this year?"
May be the ships are old, but with this "extra price" China gets may be some good friends in Peru
China and Mexico between them must spend thousands of tons a year on floating scrap metal!
Current high bid is 4800ts for all 17 destroyers.
Another two thousand odd tons and you could build the ships new again. In exchange, China's fleet goes downhill yet again with somebody else's castoffs...
[SIZE=1]Not that the regional powers in Asia mind. It would be much more concerning if China actually tried to build their own ships to a consistent plan...

China needs fill the gap, that the war has torn .....
What gap? China has yet to lose anything of actual value in the war. Just ships that ought to have been scrapped, but instead got bought by China and used as a modern combatant.

1,500 tons for ten turrets, you mean, or 1,500 tons for the five turrets on each battleship (for a total of 3,000 tons)?
1,500 t for the entire battery of each battleship. In theory, 3,000 t all total.
