Sure, because San Hainando is far away from China, so only carrier will hit the island . No chance for landbased aircrafts ....

San Hainando is much MUCH further from Iberia than it is from China and I'm sure landbased aircraft can hit it. I'd think the Chinese would use the carriers to attack bases much further from China. ....
