Good to see you around Stephan! Yeah a few of us are now over at Brock's new Discord AU, feels a little like the old days again when we were young and ship crazy!
Sure, either share here or if your happy for lurkers to pop by the Discord we could rummage there. Sounds like a simple set up, which is always the best I think.
It sounds like an interesting set up. I came to view the quarterly system here as a bit of a drag, while it provided a handy breakdown when accounting and building smaller vessels, I think overall it was cumbersome and a lot of work and errors did slip into people's calculations from time to time. Yes ships were a lot smaller then, though I would think a 22 factory set up with 22,000 tons a year could still build a pretty impressive fleet in that era. 6,000 tons less so but probably enough for a...
Yeah smaller is more fun and you don't need to stress about hyper stats to beat all the bad boys. A small navy knows its wimpy so can just concentrate on getting the best for what it can afford.
Hey guys, Long time no see, pretty amazed to see anyone still here! Hope you are all doing ok. I'm keeping busy with the day job and writing these days and Shipbucket art still. Good to see that Navalism is still going. A sim via Discord sounds novel, is it going well?

Production began in 1949 and its only just gone into operational service so it might take a little while to ramp up production, but by next year there there should be a second production-line running (either Avro or Shorts). I would think the first deliveries could be around Q2/51, depending how many you want it should be possible to deliver them all during the year.
Operation Hatrack – Philippine Evaluation of the Canberra Hosted by No 107 Squadron The BCAC Canberra had been talked about since details of its development entered the aeronautical press as the first jet-powered tactical bomber for the RAF. The Canberra B.Mk.I with blind-bombing equipment using H2S was still at least a year away given some systems issues, but the Mk.II with a visual bomb-aiming position in the nose was now in service. Also a year away was the photo-reconnaissance PR.Mk.III vers...

That would be great news if it happens. The new beta does seem to beef up the weights a bit and make it a little more realistic, perhaps a little more pessimistic for destroyer engines that I was playing around with but once the slider works it could be a game changer to better fit the powerplant to the ship type.
Just by chance I came across the Springshap site and found that on 29 September a new beta version (3.0b4) has been launched which runs on Windows 10 and 11! Looks to have some new funky options for the engines tab, some of which (high endurance vs high performance engine) does not work yet. http://springsharp.com/ Its actually made my day that Ian and James are still working on this after so many years!
The return of Limbani into the public sphere was a chance from Baron Owija to whitewash his involvement in his kidnapping. Copious documents that seemed to point towards the previous government’s complicity in the kidnap plot and attempt on the Baron’s life were splashed across the headlines of most of the Kongolese newspapers. Those same documents were passed in full to the Dutch delegation in Pretoria as evidence of the new government’s correct action in seizing power and releasing Limbani. Th...
28 February The Dutch Army approached the outskirts of Mbki as the drove down the main route east towards the Sudan. The large town of Obo lay beyond. This was rumoured to be a hotbed of rebels but since rumours of N'Dofa's escape and the disappearance of 'The Priest' the rebel forces had either melted away or surrendered. Across the border British troops were patrolling the border and arresting any rebels who attempted to flee, the majority however felt safer heading south to the Kongo. A few b...
The bedraggled man slumped into the chair, his uniform dusty and crumpled, the man looked tired and had that hunted expression on his face. "Look at you, you come crawling back here asking for more help? You failed me N'Dofa, you lied to me and failed me." N'Dofa shrugged his shoulders, "we came close, the Dutch were weak but they reacted quicker than we thought capable, and some of the scum in the capital failed to come over to our side as they promised they would. Maybe if you hadn't insisted ...

15 February Vice-Admiraal Lodewijk van Kinsbergen, aboard his flagship HNLMS Suriname received the message from the bridge that the cruiser Terschelling and the seaplane tender Venus had arrived from Paramaribo. He nodded in acknowledgement and headed out from his sea cabin to the bridge to see for himself. van Kinsbergen had requested support but made it clear to the Navy Ministry that he wanted larger ships and not more smaller gunboats. He was worried about congestion at the harbour and possi...
