United Kingdoms of the Netherlands News 1950

In general, the French government would not make any special attempts to force the Dutch toward one solution or another - although their strong inclination is to support the Dutch government with all reasonable measures, including military. That said... N'dofa is still very high on France's $#!( list, so if we know where he is... hm, well...

British Empire News 1950

Quoted The Socialist parties have been raised to pre-eminence and power far beyond their numbers and are seeking everywhere to obtain totalitarian control. Mmm, yeah, the Russian socialists are currently... stagnant, is I think the best word for it. United Kingdoms of the Netherlands News 1950

Quoted from "Hood" A message was sent to Paris asking for rights to overfly French territory in Northern and Central Africa to begin military support flights. Request accepted, with the additional offer (as per the last central African kerfluffle) of refueling at the airstrips in Niger. If the Dutch would like, they can deploy some of their paratroops into the airstrips at Niamey, Zinder, and Maradi in order to have them closer to the zone of action, in the event they have to be used. ...and, a...

Peru - Sánchez Carrión class Gunboat-Transport

Quoted from "BruceDuncan" Quoted from "Brockpaine" Hope they've camouflaged the cargo better than normal... given the increased scrutiny for piracy and gunrunning in the region - going into places like Berbera especially - they're likely to get at least one warship giving them the stink-eye. Perhaps they are counting on the attention of the Italians - at least - being diverted elsewhere by the visiting East Asia Squadron. Perhaps... But the French tripled their patrol forces in Djibouti in Sept...

I have a feeling Bruce will enjoy a book I recently finished: A Sailor of Austria: In Which, Without Really Intending to, Otto Prohaska Becomes Official War Hero No. 27 of the Habsburg Empire. But I will recommend it to everyone else, too. :)

The main change was the new diesel engine, developed to address the range and speed issues. 400 tanks were built Royal Ordnance and Leyland from 1948 and the type was also an export success with sales to Australia, Chile, Egypt, Greece, Iraq, Ireland and Switzerland; Chile, Greece and Switzerland all having specified a Swiss 88mm main gun. Just a quick minor comment: the Irish and Swiss tanks are actually Mk.II models, not ...
