Chinese BB ships for 1881. In place of DingYuen Class

In order to defend to Japanese new cruiser in 1894 y.

A new BB ship design was laid on chinese Government

I can believe the design so far very good than the original DingYuen class BB from Deutschland.

In spite of this is the Never were! ~0~, ~0`

I like the drawing a lot.

But it seems difficult for the Chinese government to have a battleship designed in 1881 to combat a Japanese ship to be laid down in 1894.....

Also, the all-forward main armament is VERY, VERY innovative for the period, the first superfiring 12" turrets were on the US South Carolina class, and those ships were contemporaries of HMS Dreadnought, post-Russo-Japanese war. To be more in keeping with the period, the raised forward 12" turret should be moved to the stern, where it will also give the ship some rearward capabilities she current lacks.

Given the time period, I'd probably also replace the 75mm mounts with Nordenfelt or Hotchkiss rapid-firing guns.

You've also probably got more 12" ammunition than you need (I'd suggest 100 rounds or so), but not enough 6" or 75mm.

Yes.

I know the best beginner of superfiring 12" turrets were on US South Carolina in1903.

However, the turrets with an thin shield was on the 1868 y ago or earlier.

100 rounds (4.7") gun can not strike through 4" armor on the 1894's Sino-Japanese war.
but 152mmQF can do it.

So , I design the ship absolute according to the point.

Thanks for your suggestion. I would add some 47mm
rapid-firing guns.

I have to agree, go with an A/Y arrangement and transfer the 6-inch gun in "Y" position to "B" position superfiring over "A" turret.
