Petros Petropoulos A.E.B.E.:
The Petropoulos family has been involved in metal constructions for generations. Konstantinos Petropoulos was a well known manufacturer of church bells and other metal products. According to the tradition there was a well keep secret behind the sound quality of the Petropoulos bells, being the bell the logo of the company. The company as it's know today was founded for Petros Petropoulos in 1922 in Thessaloniki. Initially the company was dedicated to the sale of comercial cars as well as rebuilding engines and fabricate some engines parts. The company was also involved in vehicle assembly. Some fist vehicles that it assembled included the Ford T and A, Willys-Overland And Diamond T and International trucks.
During the start of this decade the company open a new fabric and start production of a three wheels car that used a german engine, the AEBE 43, with out stop the production of foreigner passenger cars. It have a good reception in the general greek public and the sales were favorable.
1945 it start production of the AEBE Petros with an original motor which was rapidly follow by a new version of the AEBE 43, the AEBE 43-7. The 43-7 was considered a success since it replace the in sales the 43. Meanwhile the Petros, even when reach solvency did not reach the same amount of success. To this point the production of foreign models ended.
By the end of 1949 the company announced an utility car called AEBE 500 that will be on sale from December 25th of 1950 to celebrate christmas.
