Freeboard seems high; I mean, the moniter had only about a foots worth, and we're talking ships that the US was only capable of producing in the 1860s. Obviously, industrial espinoge is afoot. :P

Zaragoza probably looks formidable with all those guns! An obvious response to Chile's captured Huascar and the British-built Cochrane and Blanco Encalada. *Gets to work designing a counter.*

Oops, well I did base it of a historical class of ships and SS2 doesn't really like small fry. I'll try to fix it...

Once the SS works they'll probably be fairly decent little boats. I like the looks of them.

An actual ship was found so she will be built. Actually three (Berkeshire, C.W. Morse, Hendrick Hudson) where found so at least two of these will be built. These will have a small three plane hangar served by a crane to allow repairs to be carried out.

The paddle wheelers are Hudson River steamers. All are getting up there in years, and historically the line went under in the 1940's anyhow. Plus, there was no way to get any of the Great Lakes paddle steamers past the Welland or St. Lawrence locks.

When I took over Canada, I recall us discussing expanding the St. Lawrence seaway.

Hmmm...forgot about that, but now that you mention it... Still, the locks would have to be extra wide to allow the sidewheelers to use them. They were both almost 100 feet wide over the wheels and only one of the Sault Saint Marie locks would hold them.
Found a really nice model of the Wolverine, BTW.

Well, it would've been a late 20s-early 30s project, given when we originally discussed it.

Bump.

CVT Rio Panuco is the first steamer conversion based on the smaller (Henry Hudson) of the three ships. She won't have a hangar and only half the armament of the Seis de Abril design shown above. She will be used strictly for training and will be available for NATO use if NATO members want to make use of her or other nations at a price.

I wouldn't hold your breath; Canada's been running Hermes as a training carrier for a few years, and presumably a better platform for it (despite her age). The US has the three Lake Champlains, Atlantis has Nautica, and the RN Has it's own CVLs. Even Oz still has Argus, iirc.

Yup, but Mexico's ship will be based off of Cancun... ;) And will have nice calm weather most of the year. Once NATO's pilots receive the shiny brochures with pictures of the beaches... well they might stage a mutiny if Mexico's offer isn't taken up. :P

Atlantis as Shin says has not only Nautica but the Siboney as well. Most likely the Alioth will join these ships in this role once the Arcturus class are completed.
