The only remaining issue I can see is this designs range (14,200nm at 15.00 kts).
Seems excessive when compaired to the U.S. Edsall class escorts range of 10,800nm at 12 knots, built in 1943. Even the Evarts class (1943) had a range of 6,000nm at 12 knots.

The American built, British Captain class was capable of 6,000 bhp and had a range of 6,000 nm at 12 knots.

Given the various engine combinations the American DE's were given this design exceeds even the best of them.

I'm no expert on diesels but given the real world equivilents a decade later the range seems optimistic.

Sorry to keep harping on this design, I just need a bit more info to get a better perspective.

This ship is bigger. It carries more fuel. It can go further. Range used to be 6000@20knts iirc, but I thought this cruising speed was too high so I went to 15knts and kept the same fuel load.

I realise shes bigger, I just wonder why we didn't see more 1,600 ton vessels with Diesels and that type of range.

No need for them in OTL.
