Agreed. Don't expect she'll be worked up in time for SAINT exercises, but I imagine she'll cut her teeth in the SATSUMA exercises. Walter will finally have some competition for his BBs...

Meanwhile, of course, it'll be nice having 2,197 t per quarter to do something else with!

Don't forget that the 1927 exercises will be hosted by Japan...so brace yourself for the Dirty Tricks Department. ;-)

I can picture it already:

"It was ruled that during the night, Japanese ninjas snuck aboard Akbar, disabling both main turrets, half her boilers, and placing the captain's left hand in a glass of cold water. Consequently, Akbar was relegated to the status of "very large protected cruiser" for the remainder of the exercise..."

Perhaps the Indians wake up in the morning to find their ship encased in concrete at Yokosuka as Japan's latest Museum Ship.
