The Navy Department has announced a vist by a flotilla of His Majesties Australian Ships to Greece which will take part in an exercises with the Greek navy all next mouth the ships were part of an escort for the last 4 Admiralty class destroyers purchased by the Greece late last year . There will be an open day on th first firday of next mouth for all the RAN war ships docked in Paries Harbour. All families are welcomed to a Barbeque that will be held at 12.00 hundred on the day.


On the completion of the exercises they will be joined by our Aircaft Carrier HMAS Hobart and two destroyers for a friendly visit to Ideria's in september. Aircaft for the carrier will put on an air displays displays during the madrid international are show while our ships tour spanish ports

This deploment exercise is desigend to show the world that Australia has the ability to deploy large flotillas at long distances for extended periods of time.

Interesting...does Australia operate a fleet supply train, or use British facilities when making such deployments?
