Romania 1942

Yes, I realize I am somewhat behind but here is what the Royal Romanian Navy plans to do for 1942.

Battleships

Payment continues on the Italian Battlecruiser/Fast Battleship, which will greatly strengthen the Cruiser Force. Another ship of this type is being considered, either a French design, a joint Romano-Turkish design, or the sistership to the ship being paid for.

Cruisers

The Polish Cousins to the Pocket Battleships built during the PRJ period have been acquired and paid in full. They too will undergo a modernization similar to their Romanian cousins. A German design for a light cruiser has been purchased, three ships of the type are being considered all to be built in Romania. Tenatively named the Pagan class, they are to be named after various Dacian gods, an idea which has met some opposition in Romania.

Destroyers

4 additional ships of the River Class are to be laid down, all to be named after rivers in Romania. The design has been modestly updated since it has been 4 years since the original four were laid down. Preliminary designs are also being worked on for refits to the next class of destroyers now that the modernizations of the Galatz class have been completed.
