Argentine Army 1942

New equipment for 1942 will include;

TG-4M42: This is a development of the T-3M36 tank chassis to produce an armoured self-propelled gun. The design was drawn up by Colonel Bidone, an Artilleryman who also is a Military Engineer, with the aid of the Arsenal Esteban de Luca. A new enclosed box structure replaces the turret.
22 tons, 5.86/3.32/3.25m, one 300hp diesel, 24mph, 190 miles, 50-15mm armour, one 105mm howitzer and two 7.92mm LMG (one bow and one roof-mounted), 5 crew. 72 ordered late 1942 to equip heavy support companies.

ALCO Matador 4x4 artillery tractor, this is the British 4x4 truck and tractor and it can tow up to 6.5 tons and has a top speed of 36mph. It has an armoured body and is powered by a 95hp AEC diesel engine. 100 will be purchased in 1942.

Production of the 1939 Model HAFDASA 6 x 6 artillery prime mover, produced at the HAFDASA (Hispano Argentina Fabrica de Aumotobiles) plant in Cordoba powered by a 150hp HAFDASA diesel engine. 350 were ordered to equip all Artillery units at Corps and Brigade level excluding the Mountain Brigade.

Rheinmetall 10.5cm le FH 18 (105mm M34/Rh): 200 ordered in 1941 from Germany are in the process of delivery. These will begin to replace the 75mm M31 L/50 in some units.

Forgot one!

150mm M-42: This is an enlarged M-39 design which entered service in 1942. The venturi is angled 22 degrees to impart spin and thus no fins are used. A ten-round tube launcher is used. The 150mm M-42 rocket weighs 31.8kg, carries a 2.5kg warhead and has a range of 7000m.

10-14 tonnes
Diesel powered
Road speed: 30 - 40mph
Road range: 150 - 300 miles
Armour: hull 30-10mm minimum considered spec but thicker would be better. Turret 35-15mm.
Armament: 1x gun preferably able to mount a 47mm gun (Argentina would like to use its current Italian-origin 47mm gun), 60-80 rounds. 1-2 machine guns
Crew: 3

During 1943, perhaps extended into 1944 if neccessary.

Just as an aside,

Back during Hrolf's tenure, Germany modified the Pz-II for export to Belgium (IIL ?) and the Netherlands (IIN?).

I'm not seeing the Belgian version, but the Dutch is still in my inbox. As the Germans already built it, they should have the machine tools to start production quicker. Only thing it seems to lack is range, but the Germans could modify it (IIP?) further for that.

Yes Argentina operates the PzIIArg in its light formations but I'm lacking enough numbers and after the last batch in 1940 Bruce was closing the line so that supply seems cut-off now. Hence why I'm looking around for alternatives (I could always licence-build the PzII I suppose with imported German engines and transmissions).

All light tanks are still in production so any modification could be made to Argentina's requirements.

Quite correct; while the chassis of the PzII is still in production for self propelled guns, the equipment for manufacturing gun tanks (turrets etc) is long moth-balled, and such a small order is not worth starting up a production run.

However, if the Argentines wanted to undertake local manufacture of the design several German manufacturers would be quite interested in assisting, and approval of the authorities in Berlin would likely be forthcoming.

France can offer a heavily modified Char-6 Bruyere as proposed by AMX. Although the French don't entirely see the point in it, the Char-6 can be massively downgunned to the 47mm.
