Rifles and Carbines

The Model 1935 Banner Mauser is currently the most advanced rifle in the Exército Imperial's arsenal. Originally bought in quantity from Germany, it has since entered production locally and has become the new standard rifle, supplementing the more readily available Model 1908 Mauser in front line service.

Machine Guns

Recently adopted to replace some of the older types of light machine guns, the Browning Automatic Rife is one of the most powerful man portable weapons in use with the Exército Imperial. Brazilian versions are made specifically to use the same 7x57mm Mauser cartage as the 1935 Banner and Model 1908 rifles. It is currently the standard issue weapon of its type in the Exército Imperial, but the existing supply of the weapons means that some units are still equipped with older types.
